Mid Call Moving & Storage Co. has been a primary source of local movers in Merced – a job that often times garners a completely different type of responsibility: tour guiding.
Over the years our Merced household movers have received many inquiries from new residents. “Where should we go for some fun,” being the most common. It’s a question we love to answer and as the busy season picks up, we’re pleased to offer up some of Merced County’s most notable attractions in a blog post.
Here are our recommendations:
The Castle Air Museum:
Take the whole family to one of the most historic collections of aircrafts in the country – 53 planes from WWII as well as the Korean and Vietnam War are here on display, as perfectly preserved pieces of history.
Lake Yosemite:
Whether it’s grilling, boating, fishing or just swimming with the kids that you’re interested in, Lake Yosemite is the perfect place to do it in. You can even rent paddle boats, canoes and kayaks!
The Applegate Zoo:
Everybody loves the zoo! And Merced County has one of the best in California. Come explore local species, from mountain lions to black bear to bobcats and hawks and more – don’t forget the petting zoo!
Hit the Trails:
If you enjoy hiking, Merced offers several hiking trails, including the Meadowlark, the Cottonwood and the Bittern Marsh Trail. They range in length from half-a-mile to 1.5 miles of serenity.
Explore Downtown:
Main Street offers a wide variety of music, food and shopping to its guests. And with the restoration of the Mondo Building and Merced Theater, residents and visitors alike are able to experience more than ever before in the county’s historic downtown.
